About the team
Financial Controlling and Analysis (FC&A) Tower is part of Global Business Operations and provides oversight on financial activities and controls including general accounting, management and external reporting and financial planning and analysis. The tower is responsible for the interpretation of financial and statutory data, the coordination and management of financial and statutory reporting, the management of the P&L and balance sheet delivering solutions that will increase insight and transparency. Tower responsibilities also include ensuring there is a true and fair representation of business performance at the cut-off point for the period and transparency on financials for Business Performance Management.
About the role
  • Perform month-end close activities
  • Provide the Financial Control team with technical accounting guidance and act as the technical expert for of the Financial Controlling team
  • Understand, interpret, and implement Group Accounting and Reporting requirements; communicate requirements to the rest of the Financial Control team and to relevant teams in the market
  • Support team members with technical and with soft-skill related questions and issues and will be responsible to delegate work within the team, also will coordinate or liaise with people in different functions such as tax, group accounting when it comes to financial controlling, technical accounting matters.
  • Support the Financial Controller to understand business operations and issues, ensure the financial implications of these are captured accurately in the financial and statutory statements
  • Ensure the information in the legal entity financial & statutory statements accurately and completely reflects our business operations
  • Provide assistance in the internal and external audits
  • Ensure that financial & statutory processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently, on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are strictly adhered to in line with the internal (CARM) and external requirements.
About you
  • Degree educated in relevant finance / accounting/ business
  • 6-7 years’ experience in Accounting and/or Financial Controlling
  • Experience in a global FMCG/ Shared services environment or similar dynamic operating environment
  • Experience of working in a role requiring strong communication skills (negotiation, influencing, managing expectations)
  • Proven ability to communicate with partners at varying levels
  • Exemplary Risk Management (Internal Controls, Managing Risk, Embedding Compliance & Ethics) knowledge
  • Strong Financial Controlling knowledge (Balance sheet, Group and Local Financial Reporting, Accounting principles)
  • Ability to resolve complex problems independently
  • Proficient English knowledge
  • Qualified accountant
