Job Description
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their quality, cost, service, and reliability. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers both locally and internationally.
- Craft effective sourcing strategies that align with the company's business objectives, considering aspects such as cost-efficiency, quality, timely delivery, and supplier diversity.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms pertaining to pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Remain informed about market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes that may impact the supply chain, including global market conditions affecting pricing and availability.
- Work in close collaboration with internal teams like engineering, sales - key account, quality, and purchasing teams to ensure that the sourcing strategies meet their specific requirements.
- Identify potential supply chain risks and devise strategies to mitigate these risks, including supplier insolvency or geopolitical disruptions.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to confirm that all sourced materials are in compliance with necessary specifications and standards.
- Propose and execute initiatives to reduce costs through means such as value analysis, supplier negotiation, process improvement, and more.
- Oversee projects pertaining to sourcing, like new product introductions, supplier transitions, and process improvements.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Sourcing
- Background in the relevant industry: Automotive, Electronics, Multinational Organisation
- Experience in Fastener, Tools, or other related products
- Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, as required for supplier visits and meetings.
- Strong capability in negotiation and cost saving initiative.
- Advance analytical skills and problem-solving skills by using logic and reason.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal (equivalent to TOEIC score 650+).
