 Position Description

School District No. 60 (Peace River North) is accepting applications

for temporary full time (1.0) anticipated Elementary Teacher(s) for the 2023-24 school

year. The position(s) will be assigned to one of the following schools (pending enrollment): Anne Roberts Young Elementary, Alwin Holland Elementary, or Charlie Lake Elementary School.

Process for assignment placement:
If an Elementary position does become available

it will be posted for seven (7) calendar days. If, after the seven

days, there are no internal applicants, the successful candidate of this

position (Job Code 3526581) will be assigned to the vacancy.

Qualifications and Experience

Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)

Experience with adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students

Experience teaching primary, or intermediate level

Strong literacy and numeracy skills

Wiling to work with team on common literacy in the classroom

Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals into classroom

Collaboration and and working with a team

Ability to use performance standards in the area of social responsibility

Cognizant of the outcomes and evaluation processes outlined in the new curriculum

Computer related skills and willingness to incorporate ibooks into regular classroom instruction

Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques

Experience teaching in a multiage group setting

Strong classroom management skills

Training/experience to support second language learners

Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, emotional learning difficulties

Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the school improvement plan and with professional development

Working

knowledge of Criterion Based Referencing Assessment and Performance

Based Assessment, Balanced Literacy, and Blended/structured writing

process

Verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate)

Compensation

$2000 relocation allowance for teachers from BC, AB and Yukon and up to $4000 for teachers from other areas.

$2,947 recruitment allowance (paid over 10 months of the school year, based on the FTE)

Salary as per collective agreement. Current salary grid is $63,492 - $108,576

Benefits as per collective agreement with option to enroll in medical, dental, extended health, and group life insurance. Benefits are employer paid based on FTE.
