Job Description Summary
As Production Planning & Procurement Analytics Intern in our rotor factory in Birr, you will support your manager who is responsible for the delivery reliability of our customer orders (generators, as well as gas and steam turbines), taking into account inventory reduction and optimal resource utilization. In order to achieve this, you act as the central conductor between all production stakeholders involved, such as manufacturing engineers, production operators, procurement and sourcing, material planners and the quality department. Involvement in the maintenance of the Master Schedule - with effective & efficient OTD, resource utilization & WIP - is one of the main tasks, taking into account all internal and external influences, which serves as the central instrument of production control. Role description and tasks:

Maintaining the master schedule with the aim of achieving 95% On Time Delivery with highest possible utilization of production resources (machines + employees) and minimum inventory. The master schedule serves as the basis for Birr's senior management for S&OP planning, i.e. resource planning.- Creation of project plans in Microsoft Project
- Feasibility analysis and verification of customer orders & forecasts
- Participation in planning meetings with relevant stakeholders
- Tracking of hours and project completion in SAP (PowerMax)
- Support in load analysis and planning
- Assist with developing and managing procurement analytics
- Proactively identify and implement process improvement initiatives and relevant systems
- Actively participate as a resource on project teams and/or programs to support business objectives
- Run inventory optimization projects
Main responsibilities:
- Maintaining the production plan/master schedule in our planning system Microsoft Project and optimizing it in our Advanced Planning System (APS) FELIOS.
- Providing lead time estimations to incoming requests and confirm orders when receiving new customer inquiries.
- Responsibility for the resource planning of the factory with the department leaders as part of the S&OP planning.
- Advising management for actions regarding the resource requirements for the coming quarters and develop sufficient measures.
- Participating in the resource planning meetings with all relevant stakeholders with the goal to update the production plan. This is the basis for making decisions about capacity adjustments (e.g. additional shifts) and adjusting the production sequence & machine allocation of ongoing/future projects.
- Creating and developing reports for action for management, including for resource utilization, bottleneck and on-time analysis (i.e. daily progress tracking).
- Communicating and following up on project acceleration plans in the event of critical production disruptions (e.g. due to late material delivery, quality issues, etc.)
- Plus developing and supervising improvement projects with regard to the overall planning process (involving Lean management).
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Fluent speaking and writing in German and English.
- Solid knowledge of using MS Office apps (Word, Excel, Project).
- Curiosity/Interest for new IT systems & APS.
- Having initial SAP experience is a Plus!
